It's time to deck your halls with fire wood, fleece blankets and a powerful food processor for making soup. This month, we solemnly swear not to mention the words 'winter' or 'warmer' but do have a host of toasty soup and stew recipes, tips on chocolate tempering and veggie garden inspiration. Get a sneak peek into the newly renovated Yuppiechef HQ by watching our office tour video, learn how to make cake pops and join us on 5 June as we Eat for the Earth on World Environment Day in support of Soil for Life. Will you Eat for the Earth?

For the second year running, we're inviting people to Eat for the Earth by hosting friends and family for a hearty lunch or supper on World Environment Day and in return asking them to make a donation online to Soil for Life. There are great prizes to be won, and offices can get involved, too. Sound good?

Cake pops & chocolate tempering

Unless you're seriously into baking, you'd be forgiven for thinking chocolate needn't really be tempered. But here’s the thing, it does if you want your chocolate to be shiny and grease-free. It's one of the best-kept-secrets of French patisserie chefs and will open up your baking world like a golden key.

If you were watching SABC3 last Tuesday night, you'll have spotted some of our kitchen tools in the hands of Top Billing’s Janez, who visited Yuppiechef HQ a little while back. He spent some time in our test kitchen with Shane brushing-up on his kitchen gadget knowledge.
